A straight talking guide to KPMG

KPMG is still recruiting for graduates to join in Autumn 2010. We have opportunities available in Audit, Tax and Advisory in offices across the UK.

At KPMG, we pride ourselves on being experts across Audit, Tax and Advisory. For clients, it means we can provide exceptional service. And for you, it means we’re able to offer exciting graduate opportunities that all come with great training, support and guidance.

Audit

The fact is, all companies need audit services. So what exactly do we do for them? In short, we work with everyone from Liverpool FC through to Channel 4, giving our view on whether their accounts are a ‘true and fair’ reflection of reality. To get this right, we need to grasp a thorough understanding of a client’s business.

That’s why you’ll get to spend lots of your time out of the office at client sites. Working with their staff to see what makes the organisation tick, you’ll gain a thorough understanding of different markets, businesses and business practices – as well as a professional qualification.

Tax

At KPMG, Tax is a fast moving, exciting area of our business. Tax legislation is continually evolving, and open to interpretation and negotiation - so our advisors spend their time helping clients stay up-to-date with it all. One day you could be out at a meeting with a client such as French Connection or AG Barr (makers of “Scotland’s other national drink”, Irn-Bru). Then the next, back in the office raising bills to go out to other companies we work with.

Whether preparing presentations for meetings, producing proposals for pieces of work, or carrying out risk checks on clients, a role in Tax will give you all the technical skills, qualifications and commercial insight you need to be successful.

Advisory

Our Advisory team has never been more in demand. Working with everyone from governmental organisations through to FTSE 100 companies, you’ll offer clients the expertise to deal with anything from mergers and acquisitions, to IT systems, pensions, regulation or disputes.

Working in advisory will allow you to develop extensive business skills. What’s more, many of the specialist areas you could be working in also offer professional training too.
