PA Consulting Group

Start your career with PA Consulting Group:

PA Consulting is a leading management, systems and technology consulting firm. Operating globally in more than 35 countries, we draw on the knowledge and experience of 2,500 people.

Employee-owned, multi-award-winning, independent, global and ambitious for further growth – PA is a different kind of consulting firm. We look to hire exceptional people and provide them with opportunities that they will not find elsewhere. PA offers a future in consulting, not just a job; a stake in our firm; and an environment where individuals and ideas matter.

What can we offer you?

As a graduate in PA, you will begin your career as an Analyst. Consulting is a challenging but exciting environment and by choosing a career in PA, you will be advising organisations on how best to use their technology to drive efficiencies and to compete more effectively in their particular field.

Your role as an Analyst will be diverse and involve supporting consultancy teams on projects. Typical activities can include gathering and manipulating information, presenting conclusions to the rest of the team, managing project plans, assessing risks and issues, or documenting client requirements. This is to name but a few of your roles, as your duties will be ever changing as you work in tandem with the clients requirements.

Graduate training programme:

On joining our graduate training programme, you will attend an intensive two week global induction programme. This will include an introduction to PA, the consultancy business as well as interpersonal skills training. Analysts may also take advantage of technical courses applicable to their chosen business area. As a new graduate, much of your learning will take place 'out in the field', working with clients under the guidance of more experienced consultants.

Career development opportunities:

PA offers significant responsibility early on and we put a premium on autonomy of career direction and development. Usually our graduates (Analysts) spend 2 years at this rank and then get promoted to Consultant Analyst. However, our governing ethos is progression based on merit, not time served. There is rapid progression for high performers and clear career paths no matter what level you join, or where in the world you want to go.

Our requirements:

  • An excellent academic record is essential (minimum 300 UCAS points or equivalent and 2.1 degree)
  • An ability to work well with others and present your ideas effectively
  • Drive and tenacity in order to achieve your goals

We have opportunities available in a variety of business areas; please visit our website for more information. It is not essential to have a computer related degree to apply for our IT practices however, experience in technology is preferable.

Closing date:

Most practices close on 31 December 2009, however closing dates vary for different practice areas - please see our website for details.
